About Society

● The Government of Gujarat has established “Gujarat Samras Chhatralay Society” in September 2016 under Social Justice and Empowerment Department. 

● The society shall function as an institutional arrangement at district level for providing facilities to students of all caste - SC/ST/OBC/EBC.

 Objectives

● “All Caste under one roof” is our main motto.

● To create “New INDIA” with great compatibility, coherence and interaction among all caste and create an ideal community in the society is the objective of samras hostels.

● Separate quota for Person with Disability, Child of Widow, Orphan and Backword among SC,ST OBC community.

● Lodging, Boarding and other necessary facility(like Yoga, Computer lab, Library) to all the students of graduation and post graduation at free of cost.

● In future, Government of Gujarat is Planning to establish new Samras hostels at prime location at District place in Gujarat.

As of now 20 hostels located in 9 District 

● Ahmedabad

● Anand

● Bhavnagar

● Bhuj

● Himmatnagar

● Jamnagar

● Patan

● Rajkot

● Surat

● Vadodara

for Boys and Girls having total capacity of 13,000 students.
