Under this policy, a subsidy of Rs 10 lakh will be provided for setting up charging stations in Gujarat. Currently 250 charging stations have been sanctioned in Gujarat.

And another 250 more charging stations are planned to be set up in the state in a year. Charging tariff in Gujarat will be announced later. Under Gujarat's new e-vehicle policy, two-wheeler EVs will get a subsidy of up to Rs 20,000. So, a 3-wheeler EV will get a subsidy of up to Rs 50,000. Four-wheeler EVs will get a subsidy of up to Rs 1.5 lakh.

This was mentioned in the Grant Thornton India-FICCI report last week. According to the EV Industry Body-Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles, as of March 2021, India has 1,800 charging stations for about 16,200 electric cars. “Overall, the EV infrastructure is closely linked to the EV and charging station characteristics, battery technologies and power markets,” the report said.
